Priyanka Gandhi Hails Student Protests, Says ‘Nobody Can Ever Dare to Silence Youth’

Wayanad, July 25, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday welcomed what she described as the assertion of the country’s youth, saying that “nobody can ever dare to silence their voice,” following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Speaking to reporters in Kerala’s Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi said she became “a little emotional” after learning about the minister’s resignation, which came amid nationwide protests demanding accountability over alleged examination irregularities.

Reflecting on the recent developments, she said she had often wondered over the past decade when young people would rise to challenge what she termed the systematic weakening of the country’s education system. She alleged that the RSS had increasingly influenced educational institutions through appointments at various levels, including Vice-Chancellors, and claimed that the ideals of the country’s forefathers were being undermined.

The Congress leader also alleged that force had been used against students and others who raised their voices in protest. She said the recent protests demonstrated that the country’s youth had spoken out and that their voices could no longer be suppressed.

Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation followed sustained student protests that erupted after the alleged NEET-UG paper leak on May 3. One of the key demands of the agitators had been the Education Minister’s resignation.

Several protest leaders also welcomed the development, describing it as a victory for democracy and calling for reforms in the education system following the minister’s exit.
