Two blasts were heard in Jalandhar city saturday morning but it is not yet clear where these blasts took place. The sound and impact of the blast was heard and felt in the heart of Jalandhar city.
Two consecutive blasts were heard around 8.35 in the morning.
There have been reports of blasts from some areas but there has been no confirmation of this yet. There is also a report of a blast about 200 meters away from the office of a former MLA Sheetal Angural but no official statement has come out yet.
Meanwhile, Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal has issued the following orders this morning.
He has said that large gatherings should be avoided. It has also been asked to refrain from going out. ‘Movement’ has also been prohibited inside high-rise buildings.
Apart from this, other important orders have been issued, ordering the closure of markets in Jalandhar Cantonment and Adampur.
Apart from this, all malls and other ‘high-rise commercial buildings’ in Jalandhar city have also been ordered to remain closed today.
Terming all the above orders as precautionary measures, the Deputy Commissioner said that there is no need for people to panic and they should maintain restraint.
Pakistan is continuously targeting different areas of Punjab and last night and this morning, drones or missiles were launched in Amritsar, Jalandhar, Beas, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Ferozepur and Hoshiarpur etc., but government sources are claiming that most of the drones have been ‘neutralized’ in time and no major damage was caused.
