Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday thanked supporters after one of his Instagram reels crossed 303 million views within 24 hours, with the Prime Minister’s Office describing it as a global record for engagement on the platform.
In a follow-up video shared on social media, Modi began with the words, “Thank you friends,” expressing gratitude for the overwhelming response and the suggestions received from young people across the country.
The message followed a late-night selfie video in which the Prime Minister addressed concerns over recent examination paper leaks and assured students that the government was taking the issue seriously.
In the earlier video, Modi said the government’s immediate priority had been to ensure that students did not lose an academic year because of examination irregularities. He also highlighted efforts to conduct re-examinations and announced that the Union Cabinet would move ahead with a stringent legal framework providing for fast-track courts and tougher penalties for those involved in examination paper leaks.
In his latest address, the Prime Minister said public feedback from the youth had strengthened the dialogue between the government and citizens.
“This love of yours will remain, and our bond will continue to connect with even more vibrancy,” Modi said while thanking people for their support.
The videos were released against the backdrop of continuing student protests over alleged examination paper leaks, with demonstrators demanding accountability and reforms in the conduct of competitive examinations.
