Actress Anandhi has expressed disappointment after discovering that her scene with actor and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay was edited out of Jana Nayagan, the actor’s final film, which was released in theatres on Thursday.
In a video shared on Instagram, Anandhi said she had accepted that scenes from her films were sometimes removed during editing, but admitted this instance was particularly painful because Jana Nayagan marked her comeback project and featured her alongside Vijay.
She revealed that she had waited nearly one-and-a-half years for the film’s release and had looked forward to seeing her scene with the actor on the big screen.
Anandhi also shared that one of the reasons she entered the film industry was her dream of acting with Vijay. Calling the film “super,” she encouraged audiences to watch it and praised its message on women’s empowerment.
“I went to the theatre excited to watch my scene with Thalapathy Vijay, but I didn’t expect it to be missing. I feel so unlucky,” she said, adding that since Jana Nayagan is Vijay’s last film before his full-time political career, she would not get another opportunity to share screen space with him unless he returns to acting.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan features Vijay, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj and Gautham Vasudev Menon in key roles.
