Lovely Professional University (LPU) has announced that admissions are open for its BA, MA and Ph.D. programmes in Journalism and Mass Communication for the upcoming academic session.
According to the university, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication focuses on experiential learning by combining classroom instruction with practical training through newsroom simulations, live reporting, field assignments, podcasting, filmmaking, mobile journalism, multimedia storytelling and digital content creation.
Students are provided access to media production facilities, including a television studio, podcast lab, chroma studio, photography labs, digital newsroom, radio production facilities and Mac-based editing suites.
The university said the curriculum includes training on industry-standard software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Audition and Logic Pro. It also covers emerging areas including AI-assisted content creation, data journalism, digital storytelling and social media communication.
LPU said students undertake internships with media organisations, digital platforms, production houses and corporate communication teams as part of their academic training. The university added that graduates have secured placements across television, print, digital media, advertising, public relations, filmmaking and content creation.
The School also organises interactions with media professionals from various fields to provide students with industry exposure.
Dr. Pavitar Parkash Singh, Senior Dean and Head of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, said the university aims to prepare media professionals with a strong foundation in accuracy, credibility, ethical journalism and emerging technologies through practical learning and industry engagement.
