The Indian Chapter of World Punjabi Congress Lahore has announced the list of new office bearers. Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh has been appointed as President, Sehajpreet Singh Mangat is Secretary General, and Prof. Gurbhajan Gill and Dr. Shinderpal Singh Senior will be the new Vice Presidents.
While reorganising the World Punjabi Congress Lahore, Chairman Mr. Fakhar Zaman had made Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh the President of the Indian Chapter and the eminent poet Sehajpreet Singh Mangat the Secretary General and Chief Coordinator. He had given the authority to appoint the remaining office bearers to the President and Secretary General.
After mutual consultation by the President and Secretary General of the Indian Chapter, the complete formation of the Indian unit has been completed.
Giving information in this regard, Secretary General Sehajpreet Singh Mangat said that eminent poet Prof Gurbhajan Gill and former Registrar Dr. Shinderpal Singh have been appointed as Senior Vice Presidents. Darshan Singh Buttar, Principal Dr. Tarlok Bandhu, Dr. Khalid Mohammad and Dr. Navroop Kaur Jalandhar have been made Vice Presidents. Jasdev Singh Sekhon will be the Treasurer and Seema Grewal will be his Assistant.
Similarly, Principal Dr. Surinder Singh Sangha, Kamalpreet Kaur Dosanjh and Dr. Paramjit Kaur Sidhu will be the Organizing Secretaries.
Dr. Bhiminder Singh, Gurparveen Kaur and Dr. Jaswinder Singh Khun Khun will be the Secretaries. Manjit Singh Khaira, Gurbhej Singh Goraya, Parminder Singh Gill and Daljit Singh Shahi were made legal advisors, Navdeep Singh Gill, Dr Jagtar Dhiman, Jagtar Singh Bhullar and Shyada Bano would be the new Press Secretaries.
Apart from this, Dr Sukhbir Kaur Mahal, Dr Sunita Dhir, Dolly Guleria, Dr Pal Kaur, Dr Ravi Ravinder, Khalid Hussain Kanwar, Jaswinder Pal Singh, Dr Guriqbal Singh, Satish Gulati, Gurraj Singh Chahal, Biba Balwant, Sunil Kataria, Dr Sarghi, Gurbir Brar, Tralochab Lochi and Gurcharan Kaur Kochhar will be members of the executive.
An advisory board has been formed to support and advise the organisation, in which Manmohan, Ashok Gupta, DS Saroya, Kahan Singh Pannu, Satnam Manak, Dr. Sarabjinder Singh, Amrit Kaur Gill, Pammi Bai, Sukhi Brar, JB Goyal, Gurpreet Singh Toor, Madhvi Kataria and Jaswant Singh Zafar will be the advisors.
Sehajpreet Singh Mangat said that the tenure of the above office bearers will be for 2 years and after 2 years a new team will be appointed and the head office of the Indian chapter of the World Punjabi Congress will be in Ludhiana.
