Television actress Shweta Tiwari has raised concerns over food and delivery hygiene after allegedly finding a cockroach in her home following a cold drink delivery.
The Kasautii Zindagii Kay actress shared a video on social media showing a cockroach crawling around her house. She also tagged the delivery platform and Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Munde, urging him to look into the matter.
In the video, Shweta showed the items she had ordered and pointed towards the cockroach, saying, “Aur us ke saath, cockroach bhi aaya. Yeh dekhiye, cockroach pure ghar pe bhag raha hai.” She then tagged Munde and requested him to take note of the issue.
Her post comes amid increased attention on Munde, an IAS officer who serves as Commissioner of Maharashtra’s FDA and has been leading inspections of restaurants, food establishments and quick-commerce warehouses across the state.
Authorities have been taking action against businesses over alleged hygiene and food-safety violations, while Munde’s strict approach has drawn considerable attention on social media.
Shweta’s post has now added to the public conversation around hygiene standards in food and delivery services. It was not immediately clear from the video whether the alleged cockroach originated from the delivered product, its packaging or elsewhere.
