Google is deepening its focus on the Indian market with the launch of its Pixel 11 portfolio, as India increasingly emerges as a key manufacturing and consumer hub for the technology giant.
The move comes amid reports that Google plans to shift production of Pixel smartphones, smartwatches and wireless earbuds currently manufactured in China from next year. Analysts say India has emerged as a favourable destination for the company amid the country’s growing emphasis on local electronics manufacturing.
Google began manufacturing select Pixel smartphone models in India in August 2024 with the Pixel 8 and has since expanded its local production operations. The company has also partnered with suppliers, including Foxconn, to manufacture newer generations of Pixel devices.
Speaking at the launch, Mitul Shah, Managing Director, Devices and Services, Google India, said the company remained focused on addressing everyday challenges faced by Indian consumers.
“Our goal has always been to solve the hardest problems for our customers so they can stay in the moment, and we remain focused on solving real daily friction for Indian consumers,” Shah said.
He said the Pixel 11 portfolio combines purpose-built hardware, Google’s latest artificial intelligence innovations and long-term value, with features designed around users’ everyday requirements.
“We’re excited to bring these experiences to more people across India through expanded financing options, a growing service footprint and our continued investment in the Pixel ecosystem,” Shah added.
The Pixel 11 series includes the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The latest-generation devices feature upgraded cameras, refined hardware and enhanced Gemini integration, powered by Google’s Tensor G6 processor.
The four smartphones also feature the latest Gemini Nano model. Google said the new Titan M3 security chip, combined with the custom Tensor G6 processor, provides the Pixel range with an enhanced security and defence system.
In India, the Pixel 11 starts at Rs 89,999, while the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are priced from Rs 1,19,999, Rs 1,34,999 and Rs 1,86,999, respectively.
Google has also launched the Pixel Watch 5 in India, with prices starting at Rs 42,900 for the 41mm variant and Rs 45,900 for the 45mm model.
The expanded Pixel portfolio and continued investment in local manufacturing underline Google’s growing ambitions in India, both as a major consumer market and as part of its global electronics supply chain.
