Actress Sharvari has described her experience working with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali on the period romantic drama ‘Main Wapas Aaunga’ as a memorable one, calling her first collaboration with the director a “huge opportunity.”
Sharvari said she thoroughly enjoyed working with Imtiaz, co-stars Neelam and Sanjay and the entire team, while praising the film’s story.
“I had a lot of fun working on the film. This was my first collaboration with Imtiaz sir and with Neelam and Sanjay sir and with everyone actually. I had a lot of fun because this is such a beautiful story,” she said.
The Munjya actress said the film also allowed her to explore a character and setting different from her previous work. She particularly enjoyed stepping into a different era and experiencing its distinctive costumes and atmosphere.
“As an actor, I got a chance to go into a different era. I got a chance to play a different character,” Sharvari said, adding that she enjoyed getting “lost in that world.”
Sharvari also spoke about her admiration for Imtiaz’s body of work and said collaborating with him was an opportunity she valued deeply.
“I have always been a fan of Imtiaz sir’s work, so this was a huge opportunity for me, and I am very grateful for it,” she said.
In ‘Main Wapas Aaunga,’ Sharvari played Jiya opposite Vedang Raina. Set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition, the film follows the love story of Jiya and Keenu, while Diljit Dosanjh’s character attempts to uncover the story of his grandfather’s long-lost love.
The film hit theatres on June 12, 2026.
