Veteran actress and BJP MP Hema Malini took a spiritual trip down memory lane, recalling her visit to the first ISKCON temple in New York and its deep significance in the history of the spiritual movement.
On the auspicious occasion of Srila Prabhupada Jayanti, Hema Malini shared a heartfelt throwback on Instagram, revealing that she visited the historic ISKCON temple at 26 Second Avenue, New York, on July 29 and 30, 2026.
Describing the modest storefront as the place where Srila Prabhupada began a worldwide spiritual movement, the actress paid tribute to his legacy and reflected on the significance of the historic location.
“On the auspicious eve of Srila Prabhupada Jayanti, revisiting a most inspiring memory – my visit to the first ISKCON temple at 26 Second Avenue, New York on 29th and 30th July 2026. The humble little storefront where Srila Prabhupada started a worldwide spiritual revolution. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!” she wrote.
The Sholay actress also shared photographs and videos from the visit, showing her receiving a warm welcome at the temple. Several of the pictures featured Hema Malini posing at the historic spiritual centre.
Hema Malini has maintained a close association with ISKCON for several years and is a life member of the organisation. Her association with the movement reflects her long-standing interest in spirituality and devotion.
Raised in a South Indian Vaishnava family, the actress has spoken and participated in spiritual activities over the years. She also became closely associated with ISKCON through visits to its Juhu temple in Mumbai.
Hema Malini has additionally attended prominent ISKCON celebrations and international gatherings, including the ISKCON 60 Origins Gala in New York.
