Faridkot MLA Gurdit Singh Sekhon met newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Dr Rajinder Kumar Bansal and congratulated him on assuming the new responsibility.
During the meeting, Sekhon extended his best wishes to Dr Bansal and expressed hope that his experience and leadership would help the university achieve further growth in the fields of medical education, healthcare and research.
Sekhon said Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was a prestigious institution not only for Faridkot but for the entire state of Punjab. He said the university had been making an important contribution to medical education, healthcare services and research.
The MLA expressed confidence that under Dr Bansal’s leadership, the university would further improve its academic standards, promote medical research and provide better facilities to students.
Sekhon said the Punjab government was giving priority to the education and healthcare sectors and was taking continuous steps to strengthen government institutions in both fields. He said the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government was working to provide better healthcare, quality education and modern infrastructure to people across the state.
He said every possible effort would continue to strengthen Faridkot as a centre for healthcare and education. The progress of Baba Farid University and its affiliated institutions, he added, would further enhance Faridkot’s identity at the national level.
Sekhon again congratulated Dr Bansal on his appointment and wished him success in his new role. He expressed confidence that the university would reach new heights under his leadership.
