The Haryana State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV & ACB) has arrested an electricity department foreman in Nuh for allegedly accepting a ₹14,000 bribe in connection with the replacement of a faulty transformer.
The accused has been identified as Shaukat, a foreman posted at the Nagina sub-division in Nuh district.
According to the complaint, Shaukat allegedly demanded ₹15,000 from the complainant for replacing a defective transformer and installing a new 25 HP transformer.
After receiving the complaint, the SV & ACB Nuh unit conducted an inquiry and initiated a trap operation in accordance with the law. A team led by Inspector Santram of the SV & ACB Gurugram unit laid the trap.
During the operation, Shaukat was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting ₹14,000 from the complainant. The alleged bribe amount was recovered during the operation.
A case has been registered at the SV & ACB police station in Gurugram as FIR No. 33 dated August 25, 2026, under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 308(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The bureau said the prescribed procedure under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, was also followed during the operation.
