UGC-NET Results for 84 Subjects, CSIR-NET and ICAR Exams to Be Released This Week: NTA

New Delhi, August 26, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the final answer keys and results of UGC-NET for 84 subjects, along with those of CSIR-NET and ICAR AIEEA (PG) and AICE (PhD) 2026, on its official website this week.

In a post on X on Wednesday, the NTA said the final answer keys and results for the examinations would be published on its website during the week. The agency advised candidates to rely only on official communications issued by the NTA.

The announcement comes days after the testing agency said it would re-conduct UGC-NET examinations in English, Sociology and Commerce in September following errors in the question papers. According to information shared earlier, the Sociology examination will be held on September 10, while the English and Commerce papers will be re-conducted on September 9.

The NTA had faced criticism over the decision to conduct fresh examinations in the three subjects. The agency subsequently maintained that it was identifying issues and addressing them transparently in the interest of candidates.

The national examinations covered by the current result-processing exercise were conducted during June and July. UGC-NET, CSIR-NET and ICAR examinations together covered 184 subjects and papers and involved 24,700 distinct questions. More than 10 lakh candidates registered for the examinations, while nearly eight lakh appeared.

According to information cited by sources, each question undergoes multiple stages, including setting, moderation, translation, typesetting, administration and evaluation, to maintain common standards across the examinations.

The scale of the exercise has also been cited as a factor in the time required to process the answer keys and results, given the large number of subjects and questions involved.

The NTA has said it is conscious that re-conducting an examination creates difficulties for candidates who have already appeared. To address this, the agency has announced that the re-test for the three affected UGC-NET subjects will be conducted without any additional examination fee.

The NTA has also said that the number of qualifying candidates and subject-wise allocations for the affected subjects will not be reduced because of the re-examination.
