Bathinda, October 16, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Bathinda-born entrepreneur Anirudh Pupneja, co-founder of artificial intelligence technology company Redapto, has won first prize in Phase 1 of the Gujarat Police Innovation Challenge 2026, also known as the Sentinel Hackathon, held in Ahmedabad on October 12 and 13.
Redapto, co-founded by Anirudh Pupneja and Arnav Naresh Borkar, secured the top position in Category 1 and received a cash prize of ₹4 lakh. The competition drew more than 1,000 submissions from 17 states and 30 major cities, making the achievement a significant milestone for the Bathinda-born entrepreneur and his team.
The company has developed an AI-powered policing platform that integrates CCTV surveillance with investigative tools to help law enforcement agencies trace suspects, connect evidence across incidents and identify potential links between crimes. The platform also incorporates digital twins and three-dimensional crime-scene reconstruction to enhance situational awareness and support investigations.
The award ceremony was attended by Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Director General of Police G. S. Malik and other senior officials.
Following its victory, Redapto is working towards a potential statewide deployment of its technology across Gujarat, which could cover more than 80,000 CCTV cameras. The company will next participate in the Production Round, where its platform will be evaluated using real CCTV feeds at scale. Any wider deployment will depend on the outcome of this evaluation.
Before co-founding Redapto, Anirudh worked on trading systems at a hedge fund managing $100 billion in assets and developed AI applications at a Fortune 500 fintech company. His experience working with mission-critical systems now informs Redapto’s approach to developing artificial intelligence solutions for public safety.
Backed by Y Combinator, Redapto focuses on building AI systems for critical real-world operations. Anirudh’s achievement has brought recognition to Bathinda and highlights the growing role of homegrown technology in addressing public-safety challenges.
