Elon Musk Unveils Tesla Roadster Prototype That Appears to Fly During Demonstration

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has unveiled a new version of the company’s Roadster sports car, showcasing a prototype that briefly lifted off the ground during a demonstration at a SpaceX facility in Texas.

A social media post shared by Musk on X highlighted the demonstration, in which the vehicle navigated an elevated curved track before becoming airborne for a short distance and landing safely. The display drew comparisons to the concept of a flying car.

Videos of the demonstration were subsequently shared on social media by the company, marking the latest development in Tesla’s efforts to revive a project first announced nearly a decade ago.

The showcase also highlighted a specialised propulsion system combining the electric vehicle platform with high-pressure air tanks and thruster technology. According to the claims outlined in the supplied report, the system is designed to generate lift and improve vehicle dynamics through strategically positioned thrusters that help control movement while the vehicle is airborne.

Tesla has said the Roadster is expected to offer a driving range of approximately 300 miles and a top speed exceeding 230 miles per hour.
