Jaipur, October 16, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The rescue operation to save nine-year-old Bhomaram, who fell into a borewell in Nausar village in the Lohawat area of Rajasthan’s Phalodi district, continued on Friday after more than 22 hours, with teams yet to achieve a breakthrough.

A large rock located around 15–20 feet above the child has posed a major technical challenge for personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The administration is exploring alternative methods, including locally devised techniques, to overcome the obstruction and reach the trapped boy.

According to reports, the borewell is more than 1,050 feet deep, while Bhomaram is trapped at a depth of over 600 feet. The rock formation has also hindered attempts to assess his condition using a camera. Moisture and water inside the borewell have further complicated the rescue efforts.

The operation resumed on Friday morning following a brief pause. Madaram, an expert known for rescuing children trapped in borewells using improvised techniques, has also been brought to the site to assist the teams.

Rescue personnel are working to remove the obstructing rock, while officials are considering deploying additional equipment to accelerate the operation. The teams are continuing their efforts to reach the child and bring him out safely.

Phalodi MLA Pabbaram Bishnoi visited the site and sought details from officials regarding the incident and the progress of the rescue operation.

The District Collector and Superintendent of Police are also present at the site, monitoring the situation. NDRF and SDRF personnel remain deployed, while the local administration is coordinating efforts to overcome the technical challenges.

According to police, the incident occurred at a borewell on the farm of Pancharam Bhil. The borewell machinery had malfunctioned, and the pump was being removed for repairs when Bhomaram, Pancharam’s nine-year-old son, fell into the open borewell while playing nearby.

The incident triggered panic among family members and local residents. Bhomaram is reportedly the only son of his parents.

Rescue teams and local authorities are continuing their efforts amid difficult conditions, with the priority remaining to reach the child and bring him out safely.
