Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has shared an amusing anecdote about singer Mika Singh’s generosity, revealing that the singer once sent him a grand piano despite knowing that the Bollywood legend could not play the instrument.
The revelation will feature in a special Navratri episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 18’, which will see singers Falguni Pathak and Mika Singh join Bachchan for a festive celebration filled with music and conversations.
During the episode, Bachchan praised Mika’s distinctive voice and recalled how his wife, Jaya Bachchan, had first drawn his attention to the singer’s talent.
“Hum aap sabko batana chahate hain ki Mika ji ki kuch aadate hain joh kaafi sundar hain. Aapki joh awaz hain bohot heen unique hain aur yeh Jaya ji ne pakda tha aur bataya tha humme aapke baare mein. Daler ji bhi gaate hain lekin aapki awaz kaafi suhaani hain aur kaafi alag kisam ki awaz hain aapki Mika ji,” Bachchan said.
He said Mika’s voice was unique and melodious, adding that Jaya had been the one to introduce him to the singer’s musical appeal.
The host then recounted how Mika’s generous nature had led to an unexpected gift arriving at his residence — a grand piano so large that it had to be transported in a vehicle.
“Yeh itne dildar hain ki yeh humko na kuch na kuch bhejte rehte hain. Yeh humko ek bada sa piano, joh dughna bada hota hain, voh bhejte hain humare ghar ek gaadi mein bharke, aur humko piano bajana bhi nahi aata hain,” Bachchan said.
Explaining what he did with the unusual gift, the actor said the piano had been kept at home as a decorative piece. Whenever a musician visited, he would proudly share that it had been gifted by Mika.
“Lekin humne uss piano ko ek sajawat ke roop mein ghar pe rakha hain, aur jabhi ghar par koi musician aate hain toh hum unko batate hain ki yeh Mika ji ne humme bheja hain aur usse hume anand mehsoos hota hain,” he added.
The anecdote offered a glimpse into the warm equation between the veteran actor and the singer, with Bachchan’s recollection highlighting Mika’s generosity and the pleasure he derives from the thoughtful gesture.
The special Navratri episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 18’, featuring Falguni Pathak and Mika Singh, will air on Sony Entertainment Television.
