Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are set to appear on megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 18’ to promote their upcoming mythological epic ‘Ramayana’, with the episode expected to offer insights into the ambitious film and the actors’ experiences of bringing the iconic characters to life.
The shoot is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, according to information available about the planned appearance. Ranbir and Sai Pallavi are expected to discuss the film’s making, their association with the epic and their experiences of working on the large-scale production.
The appearance also brings Ranbir and Bachchan together on television after their collaboration in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’ (2022). Ranbir played Shiva in the fantasy adventure, while Bachchan portrayed Guru.
The two actors also share a connection through their families. Ranbir’s late father, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, worked with Bachchan in several films spanning decades, including Yash Chopra’s ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ (1976), ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ (1977), ‘Naseeb’ (1981), ‘Coolie’ (1983), ‘Ajooba’ (1991) and ‘102 Not Out’ (2018).
Following Rishi Kapoor’s death on April 30, 2020, Bachchan was among the first prominent film personalities to publicly express his grief. He wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !”
Ranbir is also known to share a friendly equation with Bachchan’s son, actor Abhishek Bachchan.
Meanwhile, ‘Ramayana’, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, features Ranbir as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Conceived as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic, the film is being mounted on a grand scale.
The first instalment is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026. The cast also includes Yash as Ravana, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Arun Govil plays King Dasharatha, Lara Dutta portrays Kaikeyi, and Kunal Kapoor features as Indra.
