A new book highlighting the compassionate and sensitive side of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to be released at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) in New Delhi on September 17, coinciding with his birthday.
Titled Modi Katha, the book has been authored by journalist, columnist and writer Harish Chandra Burnwal and published by Prabhat Prakashan. It will be formally launched by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) and Parliamentary Affairs.
The event will be presided over by IGNCA President Ram Bahadur Rai. IGNCA Member Secretary Sachchidanand Joshi, Aaj Tak senior anchor Saeed Ansari and ABP News senior anchor Chitra Tripathi are expected to attend as distinguished guests.
Modi Katha is Burnwal’s fifth book on Prime Minister Modi. It presents 10 true stories drawn from real-life events and personal recollections spanning the past 25 years, focusing on what the author describes as Modi’s compassion, affection and sensitivity.
According to a statement, the book uses simple language and an emotionally engaging narrative to present these recollections, with each story accompanied by its sources to address questions that may arise from preconceived perceptions.
One account recalls a train journey in 1990 in which the warmth and selfless behaviour of a young Modi towards two female passengers changed their negative perception of politicians.
Another story follows Jeet Bahadur, a teenager from Nepal whom Modi reportedly supported when he was an ordinary party worker and continued to remember even after becoming Prime Minister.
The book also recounts the story of teacher Geetaben and visually impaired student Pinkal, whose interaction with Modi is said to have contributed to special provisions in the Union Budget for visually impaired students.
Other accounts describe assistance extended to save the life of Taiba from Agra and Modi’s interactions with ordinary citizens, including Chandrakant, a labourer from Hubballi, Karnataka, during moments of personal joy and hardship.
“Through these stories, the book seeks to show that the true meaning of governance is not merely policies and files, but the ability to feel the heartbeat of the person standing at the last rung of society,” the statement said.
Burnwal currently runs a YouTube channel focused on political analysis. His other works include Television Ki Bhasha, Sach Kehta Hoon, Modi Sutra, Modi Neeti, Lord of Records, Sangh Ki Ansuni Kahaniyan, Operation Sindoor: 100 Sarvashreshtha Kavitayen and Unsung Sangh.
He has also collaborated with the IGNCA on a vBook and has produced more than 150 songs and devotional compositions in recent years. Burnwal has received the Bharatendu Harishchandra Award from the Union government and the Hindi Akademi Award, among other honours in journalism and literature.
