Hollywood actress Elizabeth Olsen once opened up about her first meeting with her husband, musician Robbie Arnett, revealing that his humour and easygoing personality quickly drew her towards him.
An old clip of Olsen appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show has resurfaced online, in which she recalled how the two first met through one of her closest friends, who was playing in Arnett’s band.
Olsen said they initially met as part of a group while travelling on a plane. She remembered Arnett wearing all white and making what she described as a “really stupid joke” as he passed by her and her friend Charlie.
“He was wearing all white. And he passed by me and my friend, Charlie, and he said, ‘Do you think they’ll see me?’ because he was in all white. So, he thought he was like a ghost,” Olsen recalled.
Although she admitted it was a bad joke, she said there was something immediately appealing about Arnett.
“He’s so sweet and such an easy person to be around. And he’s such a good listener. And he’s so curious about everyone he meets,” she said.
Host Drew Barrymore also asked Olsen whether spending so much time together during the Covid-19 pandemic had strengthened their relationship and partnership.
Olsen said the experience was particularly comfortable because they were already “very codependent”.
“And so to force us to be together and without anyone else was actually quite comfortable,” she said, adding that spending so much time together was “our kind of dream”.
“I do enjoy being with him all the time,” she added.
Olsen and Arnett began dating in 2017 and married in 2022. The actress is best known for playing Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while Arnett is a musician and former member of the indie pop duo Milo Greene.
