National Racing 2W: Rahil Pillarisetty Takes Pole in Super Sport 301-400cc Open at Madras International Circuit

Hyderabad’s Rahil Pillarisetty set the pace in qualifying for the premier Super Sport 301-400cc Open class as the second round of the Indian National Racing Challenge 2W 2026 began at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai on Friday.

Riding for RACR Castrol Power1, the 28-year-old clocked 1 minute 48.806 seconds to secure pole position. Chennai teenager Rakshith Dave of Petronas TVS Racing qualified second in 1:49.071, while Bengaluru’s Savion Sabu of Mad Rabbit Racing completed the front row with a 1:50.162 lap.

Rahil’s two main rivals, Pune’s Sarthak Chavan and Bengaluru’s Chiranth Vishwanath of Petronas TVS Racing, missed both practice and qualifying. Chavan was returning from Europe, while the TVS Racing duo is expected to arrive in Chennai on Saturday and start the race from the back of the grid.

Other riders securing pole positions in their respective classes were Chennai’s KK Anandhu (Veedol C2 Racing) in Stock 301-400cc Novice, Coimbatore’s R. Hari Haran (RACR Castrol Power1) in Stock 165cc Novice and Chennai’s Venkatesan Iyyappan (M3 Torque Motorsports) in Pro-Stock 200cc.

In the Petronas TVS Racing One-Make Championship, Chennai’s Kamal Navas took pole in the Expert (Apache RR 310) class with a 1:54.962 lap. Bengaluru’s AS James was second, followed by Chennai’s Manoj Yesuadian.

In the Women’s class (Apache RTR 200), Bengaluru’s Poojitha Anil Kumar continued her strong form after winning Round 1 last month. She claimed pole with a 2:14.923 lap, ahead of Hyderabad’s Hannah Akkineni Joshitha and Pune’s Drishya Nair.
