The night sky over Patiala came alive on Friday as 500 drones created a spectacular visual presentation depicting the spiritual legacy, life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji.
The unique drone show, organised at the old bus stand in the Patiala Urban Assembly constituency, was part of a series of events being held by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji.
The presentation blended modern technology with spiritual heritage, offering devotees a visual depiction of Guru Ravidas Ji’s life, teachings and Bani through illuminated formations in the sky.
Patiala Urban MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, who attended the event along with devotees, said the Punjab Government’s objective was not to restrict Guru Ravidas Ji’s philosophy to commemorative events but to make his message of equality, dignity of labour, human dignity and a discrimination-free society a part of public consciousness.
He said the drone presentation was a unique combination of technology and spirituality and helped convey Guru Ravidas Ji’s universal message to people in an engaging manner.
Patiala Mayor Kundan Gogia said the presentation could serve as an effective medium for connecting the younger generation with Guru Ravidas Ji’s life, Bani and philosophy.
A Dhadi jatha led by renowned Dhadi singer Des Raj Lachkani also performed Dhadi vaaran based on the life and Bani of Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji, adding a spiritual dimension to the evening.
Among those present were SDM Gurdev Singh, youth leader Yuvraj Juneja, Devinder Singh Mikki, Ranjit Singh Chandok, Ravinderpal Singh Vinty, Gajjan Singh, Raj Kumar Mitharia, former chairman Shurjit Singh Ablowal, SC Wing Zone in-charge Amarjit Singh Bangar, councillors and a large number of city residents and devotees.
