Actress Krystle D’Souza, who emerged as the winner of The Traitors Season 2 alongside Rida Tharana after outplaying the Innocents, has opened up about the challenges of surviving the reality show as a Traitor.
Krystle said she quickly realised that over-explaining herself or becoming defensive could expose her true identity.
“Being a Traitor sounds glamorous until you actually have to lie every day to people you genuinely like. Since I was a Traitor from the very beginning, I knew over-explaining or getting defensive would give me away,” she said.
She said the experience taught her when to speak, when to remain silent and when to simply observe.
“So I learnt kab bolna hai, kab chup rehna hai, and when to just smile and sit back. I survived suspicion, accusations, and being thrown under the bus,” Krystle said.
Recalling one of the tense moments in the game, she said she even told Karan Johar, “Boo ke baad main hi yahaan ki billi hoon,” before somehow managing to stay in the game.
The season began with 21 contestants entering the palace and featured weeks of murders, betrayals, misleading theories and intense “Circles of Shaq”. By the finale, Mallika Sherawat, Sahil Salathia, Dalip Tahil, Shalini Passi, Krystle and Rida remained in the competition.
Krystle and Rida ultimately revealed themselves as Traitors, completing an unlikely partnership and securing the victory.
Rida said she initially entered the show hoping to remain an Innocent because she believed she could not lie. However, being blackmailed changed the course of her game.
“As a Traitor, I had a clear roadmap to the finale, but the hardest part was dealing with the guilt of playing against people I genuinely cared about,” she said.
Rida added that she gave her best as both an Innocent and a Traitor before leaving the outcome “to the universe”.
“I walked into the palace as an Innocent, became a Traitor, and walked out a winner. I couldn’t have imagined a more unexpected ending,” she said.
