Composer Anu Malik is celebrating the international journey of his first stage musical, “Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane”, which is set to travel to the US following its run in India.
Sharing a picture with actor Anupam Kher, singer Shaan and other members of the team, Malik described the project as a memorable experience and expressed his happiness at seeing the production reach audiences overseas.
“My first musical play on stage, and what a beautiful journey it has been! JAANE PEHCHAANE ANJAANE is now making its way to America, and I couldn’t be happier to see this emotional roller coaster of a play travel across the globe,” Malik wrote on social media.
He thanked Anupam Kher for giving him the opportunity to be part of the project and lyricist Kausar Munir for giving words to the emotions portrayed in the musical.
Malik also expressed his gratitude to singers Shaan and Sukhwinder Singh and the entire creative team. He wished Kher, Swaroop Sampat, director Gajendra Ahire and the production team success during their American tour.
“Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane” is a Hindi musical produced by Anupam Kher Studio and written and directed by Gajendra Ahire. The play stars veteran actors Anupam Kher and Swaroop Sampat, with music composed by Malik.
Malik is known for composing several popular Hindi film songs, including “Baazigar O Baazigar” from “Baazigar”, “Woh Ladki Jo” and “Hum To Deewane” from “Baadshah”, “Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha” from “Main Hoon Na”, “Taal Pe Jab” and “Mere Humsafar” from “Refugee”, and “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha” from “Yaadein”.
He also served as a judge on the television reality show “Indian Idol”, beginning with its first season in 2004. He returned to the show in later seasons after stepping away from the judging panel.
