Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairperson Manoj Kumar Dwivedi reviewed civic infrastructure, development and preparedness for the upcoming BRICS Summit 2026, with a focus on strengthening New Delhi’s urban landscape.
The NDMC said in a post on X that the meeting discussed development, civic infrastructure and overall preparedness of the national capital, with emphasis on coordination and maintaining high standards of civic services.
“Lieutenant Governor of Delhi @LtGovDelhi and NDMC Chairman @dwivedimk_ias held discussions on the development, civic infrastructure and overall preparedness of New Delhi, with a focus on strengthening the national capital’s civic landscape,” the civic body said.
The meeting also reviewed arrangements for the BRICS Summit, including seamless coordination and timely execution of various works. The NDMC said it remains focused on making New Delhi cleaner, greener, better planned and future-ready.
Separately, Dwivedi felicitated prominent artists at the closing ceremony of the 10-day special group art exhibition, “Har Ghar Tiranga 2026”, held at the Janpath Subway Art Gallery.
Congratulating the participating artists, Dwivedi praised their creativity and dedication, saying art provides a powerful medium for connecting people with their inner selves and reflecting philosophical and spiritual themes.
He said the exhibition had been organised on a modest scale, but the NDMC’s vision was to expand it into a larger platform featuring artists from Delhi, across India and other parts of the world.
Dwivedi said the upcoming BRICS Summit could provide an opportunity to showcase the artistic expressions and cultural heritage of artists from BRICS countries and other nations.
“Along with ensuring seamless civic services and world-class urban amenities, NDMC remains equally committed to promoting art, culture and creativity,” he said.
He added that art represents the heritage of a civilisation by giving expression to its emotions, values, imagination and collective consciousness.
