Although Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains Sunday issued orders to open schools, colleges and universities in the state from Monday, May 12, the Deputy Commissioners of some districts have issued separate orders to keep schools closed in their respective districts on Monday.
The Deputy Commissioners of the border districts of Ferozepur, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Pathankot have issued orders at their respective levels to keep schools closed on Monday.
No instructions have been given regarding blackout anywhere in the state on Sunday night, including the above districts of Punjab, although some of the above border districts have been asked to take voluntary precautions.
It is worth mentioning that following the recent tension between India and Pakistan, orders were issued to close all educational institutions in the state, but today, Education Minister Harjot Bains informed that all educational institutions in the state will open on Monday.
