Dr. Sanjay T. Satpute, a Scientist (SWE) at the Department of Soil and Water Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, was honoured with the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 10th International Groundwater Conference-2025, held at the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, India, from March 5-7, 2025.
The conference, themed “Groundwater Vision 2047: Towards Water Security under Changing Climate,” brought together experts to discuss critical water conservation strategies.
Dr. Satpute received this recognition for his research paper, “Groundwater Recharge Potential of Village Ponds in Ludhiana District of Punjab, India,” co-authored by Ankita P. Shinde, Sanjay T. Satpute, Samanpreet Kaur, S.K. Sahoo, and J.P. Singh under the theme Augmentation of Groundwater Resources. The study was conducted as part of the M.Tech thesis of Ankita P. Shinde and a sub-project of the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Irrigation Water Management.
PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, Director of Research Dr. Ajmer Singh Dhatt, Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology Dr. Manjeet Singh, and Head of the Department of Soil and Water Engineering Dr. J.P. Singh congratulated Dr. Sanjay T. Satpute on his remarkable achievement.
