Patna, September 4, 2026 (Yes Punjab News) — The Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas (LJP-RV) has reiterated its resolve to make party chief Chirag Paswan the Chief Minister of Bihar, with senior leaders making the declaration at a meeting in Patna attended by Paswan.
LJP-RV National General Secretary and MLA Raju Tiwari and state party President Surendra Vivek made the announcement from an open platform, signalling the party’s ambition to lead the state government.
Addressing the gathering, Tiwari expressed confidence that the party organisation would continue to expand under Chirag Paswan’s leadership. He said LJP-RV leaders had resolved to form their own government in Bihar in the upcoming Assembly elections and fulfil their commitment to making Paswan the Chief Minister.
“We have full confidence that we will progress day by day under the leadership of our leader, Chirag Paswan,” Tiwari said, adding that the party would work to form its government and fulfil its pledge to make Paswan Chief Minister.
The declaration assumes significance amid Bihar’s political dynamics and the LJP-RV’s position as a constituent of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The party’s public claim to the Chief Minister’s post could intensify discussions over leadership within the alliance and its electoral strategy.
Under Chirag Paswan’s leadership, LJP-RV has recorded strong performances in recent elections. In the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the party contested five seats — Hajipur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Khagaria and Jamui — and won all five.
In the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, LJP-RV contested 29 seats and won 19. The party is currently part of the NDA governments at both the Centre and in Bihar.
