At least four civilians were reportedly killed and several others injured after Frontier Corps (FC) personnel opened fire during a raid on a residential property in Wadh tehsil of Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, according to local media reports.
The Balochistan Post reported that FC personnel raided the residence of civilian Aziz Yar Muhammad Gargnari on Thursday night and opened fire, killing four people and injuring several others, including women and children.
The incident triggered protests by local residents, who blocked the Quetta-Karachi highway in condemnation of the killings.
The Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) called for an independent and transparent investigation, alleging that the incident reflected a wider pattern of violence and collective punishment against Baloch civilians. The organisation also urged the international community to press Pakistani authorities to protect civilians and ensure accountability.
Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Sabiha Baloch also condemned the incident, alleging that military operations in Balochistan have resulted in extrajudicial killings, injuries, enforced disappearances and collective punishment.
In a post on X, she said four civilians were killed in FC firing in Killi Yar Muhammad Sonaro in Wadh, including seven-year-old Shahzaib, while several others were injured. She described the impact on children and local communities as particularly devastating and called for international action.
The latest incident comes days after another reported FC operation in Kardigap tehsil of Mastung district, where shelling of residential homes allegedly killed four people, including three women and children, and injured several others.
According to The Balochistan Post, one of the injured, a six-year-old girl, later died at a Quetta hospital, taking the reported death toll in that incident to four.
The allegations in both incidents could not be independently verified.
