Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka on Thursday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and held detailed discussions on issues concerning the Sikh community in Delhi and matters of importance to the Sikh Panth.
During the meeting, Kalka apprised the Home Minister of various issues related to the welfare of the Sikh community, as well as the functioning, development and strengthening of religious and cultural institutions managed by the DSGMC.
Kalka said the DSGMC remains committed to expanding its service-oriented initiatives and ensuring that the Sangat continues to benefit from quality education, healthcare, religious services and other welfare programmes being undertaken by the committee.
He also stressed the importance of constructive engagement with the Union government and other concerned authorities to address issues affecting the Sikh community and to protect, preserve and promote its religious, cultural and educational institutions.
Kalka said the DSGMC would continue to work with dedication and sincerity for the welfare of the Sangat while strengthening the institutions entrusted to its care.
He reiterated the committee’s commitment to upholding and promoting the rich heritage, values and traditions of the Sikh Panth through its various initiatives and institutional activities.
