The makers of director Nag Ashwin’s blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD have cautioned the public against fake casting calls and individuals falsely claiming to represent production house Vyjayanthi Movies.
The production house, which is behind the popular franchise starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, issued the warning on Thursday through its official social media platforms.
In a statement, Vyjayanthi Movies clarified that it has neither authorised nor associated itself with any third-party agency, company, individual or casting representative to conduct auditions or casting on its behalf.
The production house urged people not to share personal information or audition material with such individuals or agencies, and specifically warned them against making payments to anyone claiming to represent the company.
“Please do not share personal information, audition material, or make any payments to anyone claiming to represent us,” the statement said.
Vyjayanthi Movies also said it reserved the right to take appropriate legal action against anyone using its name without authorisation or misrepresenting the company.
The production house advised the public to rely only on its official social media handles for authentic information regarding casting and other announcements.
Meanwhile, the first instalment of Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD had emerged as a major blockbuster and recently won two National Film Awards at the 72nd National Film Awards announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The film won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award as well as the Best Production Designer award.
Following the announcement, the makers said they were deeply honoured and grateful for the recognition, adding that such awards inspired them to dream bigger, tell stories that resonate across generations and take Indian cinema to greater heights.
