Actress Harshita Gaur has acknowledged that her popular “Mirzapur” character, Dimpi Pandit, has become so closely associated with her that it has overshadowed some of her other performances.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Gaur said the widespread popularity of Dimpi has made the character a major part of her identity among viewers.
“Yes, it has overshadowed them. Dimpi has become so big,” she said.
However, the actress does not regard the association as a drawback. Gaur said she is comfortable with the attention the character continues to receive and would be happy to move beyond Dimpi if another role makes a comparable impact.
“Unless something else comes along, I don’t have any problem with it. I am happy,” she said.
Reflecting on her journey since the beginning of her career, Gaur said she has undergone substantial personal and professional growth despite having worked on relatively fewer projects.
“A lot. Although I have worked comparatively less, I feel that my personal growth and growth as an actor have increased tremendously over the years,” she said.
The actress also credited her experiences of working with talented people for contributing significantly to her development as a performer.
“I have also had the opportunity to work with so many good people, and that has had a significant impact on me,” she added.
Gaur is now preparing for the release of “Mirzapur: The Movie”, which is scheduled to hit theatres on September 4, 2026.
Directed by Gurmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the crime thriller is based on the 2018 streaming series “Mirzapur”.
