Leaders of major US technology, cryptocurrency and financial companies have rallied behind President Donald Trump’s push for lighter regulation and clearer rules for digital assets, saying the administration’s policies are encouraging investment and innovation in the United States.
Executives from Coinbase, Robinhood, Kraken, Chainlink Labs, Gemini and Intercontinental Exchange joined Trump at the White House ahead of the first meeting of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Innovation Advisory Committee.
Coinbase co-founder Brian Armstrong said Trump had recognised during the 2024 presidential campaign that millions of cryptocurrency supporters felt excluded under the previous administration. He said Trump had promised to make the US the “crypto capital of the world” and had moved quickly after taking office.
Armstrong cited the creation of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, passage of the GENIUS Act and appointments of pro-innovation regulators as key steps. He identified the CLARITY Act as the next major milestone, with a congressional vote expected on September 15.
He described the legislation as a bipartisan compromise and said its passage would help make the administration’s crypto policy durable for decades.
Intercontinental Exchange founder Jeffrey Sprecher credited Trump’s trade, energy and tax policies with contributing to strong market activity. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev called for broader investment access through tokenisation, including opportunities involving privately held companies.
Kraken co-CEO Arjun Sethi said Trump had encouraged the company to move faster, while Gemini co-founder Cameron Winklevoss argued that the US should lead in cryptocurrency and prediction markets.
Chainlink Labs co-founder Sergey Nazarov said stablecoins were expanding international use of the US dollar, while tokenisation could increase global access to US equities.
The White House meeting brought together companies spanning cryptocurrency exchanges, trading platforms, blockchain infrastructure and traditional financial markets. Their businesses are expected to be directly affected by legislation defining regulatory responsibilities between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the CFTC.
The CLARITY Act seeks to establish a federal regulatory framework for digital assets, with its progress being closely watched by the global cryptocurrency and financial technology sectors.
