Actress Soha Ali Khan marked Bijoya Dashami by celebrating the strength of women across three generations of her family, sharing unseen photographs with her mother, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, and daughter Inaaya Naumi Khemu.
In a heartfelt social media post on Wednesday, Soha described the festival as a special connection linking three generations of Pataudi women — her mother, herself and her daughter.
Reflecting on the enduring bond between mothers and daughters, the Rang De Basanti actress wrote that a daughter remains connected to her mother regardless of age or distance, carrying her influence and love wherever life takes her.
Soha also used the occasion to highlight the many dimensions of feminine strength, emphasising that a woman’s power can be expressed through both courage and tenderness.
She described herself, her mother and her daughter as three chapters of the same story, adding that the festival offered an opportunity to celebrate women of the past, present and future.
The actress’s post carried a message of intergenerational solidarity, presenting Shakti as a strength that continues to find expression in women across different stages of life.
Soha, who has appeared in films such as Rang De Basanti and Chhorii 2, frequently shares glimpses of her family life on social media.
Bijoya Dashami, also known as Vijayadashami, marks the culmination of Durga Puja celebrations. The festival honours Goddess Durga, whose victory over the demon Mahishasura symbolises the triumph of good over evil.
The goddess is also widely associated with Shakti, or divine feminine power, representing strength, courage and protection. Soha’s message connected this symbolism with the bond shared by mothers and daughters and the strength passed from one generation of women to the next.
