Actress Apeksha Porwal has described working with superstar Rajinikanth in the recently released film ‘Jailer 2’ as a surreal experience, saying she had heard about his extraordinary stardom but got to witness it firsthand while working with him.
In a statement, the actress said, “It was an absolutely surreal experience working with Rajinikanth Sir. Till now, he was a mythical phenomenon whose stardom I had heard of, but then I actually got to see it up close.”
Reflecting on her experience, Apeksha said what impressed her most was not just Rajinikanth’s immense popularity but also his humility and kindness towards people around him.
“I’ve never seen a star of his stature be this humble and kind to everyone around. His simplicity, his humility, the aura he carries, that’s his greatness. He would always have a smile on his face and greet everybody,” she said.
For Apeksha, the experience offered a glimpse of the person behind the superstar’s larger-than-life image. She recalled how his approachable nature, warmth and friendly demeanour towards everyone on the set made working with him particularly memorable.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, ‘Jailer 2’ features Rajinikanth alongside Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik, who reprise their roles from the previous instalment. The sequel also brings S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vidya Balan into the cast.
The film follows the 2023 release ‘Jailer’, which featured Rajinikanth as a retired jailer who sets out to apprehend an eccentric idol smuggler threatening his family.
The first film also featured Vinayakan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunil and Vasanth Ravi in supporting roles, with Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff appearing in guest roles.
‘Jailer’ emerged as a major commercial success, while ‘Jailer 2’ continues the franchise with a mix of returning characters and new additions to its ensemble cast.
