The Central Library of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, organised a training programme on EBSCO (Elton B. Stephens Company) and One Nation One Subscription (ONOS).
The session was coordinated by Dr. Iqbal Singh Brar, Librarian, and Dr. Malkeet Singh, Assistant Librarian.
During the programme, Mr. Ritesh Kumar, Training Manager, EBSCO Information Services, introduced participants to the new AI-based user interface of EBSCO. He highlighted its advanced search features, intuitive design, and powerful research tools that facilitate effective access to academic resources across diverse disciplines.
The second session focused on One Nation One Subscription (ONOS), where Dr. Malkeet Singh provided in-depth insights for faculty, researchers, and students.
He elaborated on the background and significance of ONOS, explaining how it has revolutionised academic research in India by providing seamless access to over 13,000+ e-journals from 30 international publishers. He further emphasised that ONOS can be accessed through both campus and personal networks, thereby empowering the academic community with broader research opportunities and enhanced learning resources.
The sessions were moderated by Dr. Iqbal Singh Brar, who also extended gratitude to the faculty members, researchers, and students for their enthusiastic participation. Faculty participants highly appreciated the initiative and suggested that more such programmes be organised regularly to strengthen the research ecosystem at MRSPTU.
