‘Lock Upp Season 2’ winner Shreya Kalra has pledged to use a part of her Rs 1 crore prize money to support fellow contestant Shilpa Shinde’s shelter home.
Speaking during a media interaction after winning the reality show, Shreya was asked how she planned to use the prize money and which personal aspirations she wanted to fulfil.
The reality show winner said she had little interest in spending the money on luxury items such as cars.
“Look, I don’t believe in luxury items. Nor do I like cars so much. I like to buy gifts, and I like to give gifts, but I am not into such luxury items,” she said.
Shreya then revealed that supporting Shilpa’s shelter home would be among her first priorities.
“One thing I have thought is that I will help Shilpa ji for her shelter home, whatever I can do,” she said.
Apart from contributing to Shilpa’s initiative, Shreya said she plans to invest the prize money in property to generate future returns.
“And second, I will try to invest this money in a property, so that I get a return. Because I am Sindhi, and my business mind is very strong. So those are two things that I have thought of for this Rs 1 crore,” she added.
Shreya emerged victorious in ‘Lock Upp Season 2’ at the grand finale held on August 5. Shivangi Joshi finished as the first runner-up, while Yogesh was declared the second runner-up. Shilpa Shinde ended her journey as the fourth runner-up.
Throughout the season, Shreya and Shilpa developed a close bond, despite experiencing their share of differences during their time inside the reality show.
Shilpa had earlier spoken about her desire to establish a shelter home for people in need and work towards providing them with care, support and love.
Shreya’s decision to contribute towards the initiative comes as a gesture of support for the vision that Shilpa has expressed during and after her reality show journey.
