Bollywood star Anil Kapoor, who will host the upcoming reality quiz show ‘India Ke Top 1%’, believes the format will challenge contestants and viewers by testing how they think rather than simply measuring how much they know.
The show is set to premiere on September 5 on Star Plus and JioHotstar.
Announcing the show, Anil said he was excited to bring the internationally acclaimed format ‘The 1% Club’ to India after its successful run across several countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Greece, Australia, Israel, Turkey, Ukraine, Mexico and the US.
“I’m thrilled to announce that India Ke Top 1% premieres on 5th September. Witnessing the grand launch of the show in such a spectacular setting made this announcement even more special,” he said in a statement.
Describing the format, the actor said the show offers a different approach to the traditional quiz genre, with questions designed to test reasoning and thought processes rather than general knowledge alone.
“The show offers a refreshing take on the quiz genre, where it’s not about how much you know, but how you think. Designed for everyone, the format allows people of every age to play along from home, turning every living room into a shared family game night,” he said.
Anil added that the show would keep participants guessing and test several aspects of their cognitive abilities.

Highlighting the show’s interactive format, Anil said viewers would also be able to attempt the questions from home and assess their own thinking abilities.

The actor said the show would feature moments that challenge assumptions and demonstrate that intelligence can take different forms.
