Srinagar Police have attached or frozen immovable properties worth more than Rs 6.22 crore allegedly linked to proceeds from narcotics activities in six separate cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials said on Thursday.
Police said the action was part of an intensified crackdown aimed not only at drug trafficking networks but also at the financial assets and infrastructure allegedly sustaining the illicit narcotics trade.
The latest proceedings were carried out by Police Stations Nigeen and Zakura, while earlier attachment or freezing actions had been undertaken by Police Stations Shalteng, Ahmad Nagar and Lal Bazar.
In the latest action, Nigeen Police attached a double-storeyed residential house along with land at Danihama, Hazratbal, valued at approximately Rs 1.10 crore. The property belongs to Mubashir Ashiq Teeli, son of Ashiq Hussain Teeli, a resident of Saderbal, Hazratbal, presently residing at Danihama. The action was taken under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 24/2026 under Sections 8/21 of the Act.
Zakura Police attached another residential property, comprising a house and land at Mulphaq Abu Baker Colony, Hazratbal, valued at around Rs 1.14 crore. The property belongs to Zubair Ahmad Rather, son of Mohd Shaban Rather, resident of Lariyal, Tral, presently residing at Abu Baker Colony, Mulphaq. The action relates to FIR No. 44/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
Earlier, Shalteng Police had frozen a property valued at approximately Rs 1 crore belonging to accused Mohd Altaf Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, resident of Dilawar Colony, Mujgund. The property consists of a single-storey house and 11.5 marlas of land and was frozen during investigation of FIR No. 76/2025 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
Ahmad Nagar Police attached an immovable property valued at approximately Rs 2.2 crore belonging to accused Owais Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, resident of Baghaat Shoora, Srinagar. The property comprises a double-storeyed residential house, including a hall on the second floor, and around 10 marlas of land. The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 09/2025 under Sections 8/21/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act.
Lal Bazar Police also attached a drug-linked property comprising a double-storeyed residential house and 3.5 marlas of land, with an estimated market value of more than Rs 35 lakh. The property belongs to Waseem Ahmad Langoo, son of Farooq Ahmad Langoo, resident of Sheikh Colony, Lal Bazar, and is linked to FIR No. 52/2023 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
In another case registered at Shalteng Police Station, property belonging to accused Riyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, resident of Panzinara, Srinagar, was attached during investigation of FIR No. 87/2025 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act. The property comprises a single-storey residential house and six marlas of land, valued at approximately Rs 43 lakh.
Police said the proceedings reaffirm their commitment to dismantling the financial networks supporting drug trafficking in Srinagar.
