Punjab Cabinet Ministers Mourn Demise of Former Minister Chuni Lal Bhagat

Punjab Cabinet Ministers on Thursday expressed deep grief over the demise of veteran politician and former Punjab Cabinet Minister Chuni Lal Bhagat, and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to his son and Cabinet colleague Mohinder Bhagat.

Chuni Lal Bhagat passed away at his residence in Jalandhar. Mourning his death, Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema, Dr. Balbir Singh, Harjot Singh Bains, Aman Arora, Lal Chand Kataruchak, Harbhajan Singh ETO, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Hardeep Singh Mundian and Tarunpreet Singh Sond described him as a dedicated grassroots leader who devoted his life to public service and the welfare of underprivileged sections.

In a joint statement, the Ministers said Bhagat’s contribution to Punjab’s public life, particularly his service as a legislator from Jalandhar and later as a Cabinet Minister and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, would continue to inspire future generations.

They said his demise has left an irreparable void in Punjab’s political landscape and expressed solidarity with Mohinder Bhagat and the entire bereaved family during this difficult time.

The Cabinet Ministers prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give the family strength to bear the irreparable loss.
