Quetta, September 10, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

At least four people, including children, were killed and several others injured after Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) personnel allegedly carried out heavy shelling on residential areas in Kardigap tehsil of Mastung district in Balochistan, local media reported.

According to The Balochistan Post, citing local sources, FC personnel resorted to heavy and indiscriminate shelling in Kardigap on Tuesday evening, with several shells striking civilian homes.

The report said multiple shells hit the residence of civilian Abdul Jaleel Sarparah, killing his mother and two girls at the scene. Several others were also injured in the attack.

A six-year-old girl who was critically injured was taken to Quetta for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries at a hospital, taking the reported death toll to four.

Following the incident, residents launched an indefinite protest sit-in, placing the bodies of those killed on the Quetta-Nushki highway and bringing traffic to a standstill.

The reported shelling comes amid heightened military activity in Mastung, including aerial and drone strikes that local media and rights groups say have resulted in civilian casualties.

Earlier on Sunday, three people, including a child, were reportedly injured in a drone strike by Pakistani forces in the Garro area of Khadkocha. The injured were taken to Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani Hospital for treatment.

The intensifying security operations have raised concerns among local communities and rights organisations over their humanitarian impact.

Separately, at least six unidentified bodies were recovered from two locations in Mastung on Sunday, prompting fears that they could be linked to Baloch youths previously reported missing, according to a leading human rights organisation.

The Balochistan-based rights group BVJ expressed grave concern, alleging that civilians, particularly young people, were being forcibly disappeared from homes, educational institutions and public roads and taken to secret detention facilities where they were subjected to torture.

The organisation further alleged that some missing persons were killed in custody and that their deaths were subsequently presented as the result of staged encounters.
