Chandigarh, October 7, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Tuesday hit out at the BJP over the recent CBI raids in Punjab, claiming that the agency returned empty-handed after searches at several locations.

Dhaliwal alleged that the raids were aimed at maligning Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the AAP government. He said the BJP should apologise to Punjab for what he described as an attempt to harass the state’s elected Chief Minister.

Addressing a press conference, Dhaliwal claimed that the CBI conducted searches at several locations but did not recover any money or find anything incriminating. He said this, according to him, demonstrated the AAP government’s “kattar imaandari”.

“The BJP’s CBI Wing arrived in Punjab with the impression that it would make some major recovery, but ultimately returned empty-handed,” Dhaliwal said, alleging that the raids were another attempt to malign the Mann government.

He also targeted the BJP over its recent political activities in Punjab, claiming that the party had failed to mobilise public support through rallies and a yatra despite bringing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior leaders to the state.

Dhaliwal alleged that after failing to build political support through such programmes, the BJP had turned to central agencies such as the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) to create an atmosphere of pressure and intimidation.

He said Punjabis would not be intimidated by such actions and invoked the farmers’ protest, alleging that the BJP had expected people to forget the agitation and the sacrifices of farmers who died during it.

“Punjabis do not accept anyone trying to bend their arm through pressure or intimidation. Punjabis do not bow before anyone,” he said.

Drawing a historical parallel with Alexander’s invasion of Punjab, Dhaliwal said the AAP under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann would stop what he described as the BJP’s “unbridled horse” in Punjab in the 2027 Assembly elections.

He further alleged that the BJP’s efforts to induct leaders from other parties and bring senior national leaders and Union ministers to Punjab had failed to establish a political base among the people.

Dhaliwal said the AAP government continued to enjoy public support because of its work on the ground, including welfare initiatives for women and efforts to provide ownership rights to people living within the Lal Lakeer.

Strongly condemning the CBI action, he said the AAP would stand firmly behind Chief Minister Mann and would not be intimidated by the CBI or ED. He also condemned the raids in Dhuri and other places, alleging that attempts were being made to target the Chief Minister’s Office and implicate people in false cases.

Dhaliwal further claimed that the matter was before the Supreme Court and alleged that the raids were carried out in haste despite the court being scheduled to hear the matter.

“The BJP must apologise to the country. They must apologise to Punjab. They tried to insult Punjab’s elected Chief Minister and tried to harass him,” he said, adding that the raids had, in his view, demonstrated that the AAP was “kattar imaandar”.
