Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb met BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh in New Delhi on Saturday along with his wife, Triveni Rao Deb, and expressed gratitude for the senior leader’s affection and blessings for the couple and their family.
Santhosh visited Deb’s residence in the national capital on Saturday evening. Deb later shared photographs of the meeting on X, showing him and his wife with the BJP organisational leader.
“I have received the affection and blessings of the successful National General Secretary (Organisation) of the Bharatiya Janata Party, B.L. Santhosh Ji, for me and my entire family,” Deb said in his post.
The meeting came soon after Deb’s marriage to Kannada actress and film artist Triveni Rao. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in New Delhi on June 19, 2026.
Deb, 55, currently represents the Tripura West parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha and remains active in the BJP’s political and organisational activities.
Santhosh, one of the BJP’s key organisational strategists, has been closely associated with the party’s recent electoral campaign in West Bengal, where the BJP came to power for the first time, ending the Trinamool Congress’ 15-year rule.
The meeting also comes as the BJP in Tripura prepares for upcoming local-level elections and works to strengthen its organisational network in the state.
Deb entered Parliament through the Rajya Sabha in September 2022 and represented Tripura until June 2024, when he resigned after being elected to the Lok Sabha from the West Tripura seat in the 2024 general elections.
Before moving to national politics, Deb served as Tripura Chief Minister from March 9, 2018, to May 14, 2022. Under his leadership, the BJP ended the CPI-M’s 25-year uninterrupted rule in the state.
Deb resigned as Chief Minister in May 2022 and was succeeded by incumbent Chief Minister Manik Saha.
His marriage to Triveni Rao is his second. He divorced his first wife, Niti Deb, in 2025.
