India batter Jemimah Rodrigues has been ruled out of the remainder of The Hundred with a hamstring injury, putting her participation in the upcoming Women’s T20 Asia Cup in serious doubt.
Jemimah was representing Southern Brave in the 100-ball competition and scored 143 runs in six innings at an average of 35.75 and a strike rate of 131.19 before the injury brought her campaign to an early end.
Southern Brave have signed Australian all-rounder Charli Knott as Jemimah’s injury replacement for the remainder of the tournament.
“We can confirm that due to an injury suffered by Jemimah Rodrigues, we’ve signed Charli Knott as our injury replacement for the remainder of The Hundred. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Jemi,” the franchise said in a statement on Saturday.
Southern Brave are currently second in the standings with 20 points, behind leaders Trent Rockets.
The injury comes less than three weeks before the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Dubai from August 28 to September 13. Jemimah’s availability for the continental tournament will depend on her recovery and response to treatment.
Jemimah has established herself as an important component of India’s batting line-up, particularly for her ability to handle both pace and spin and accelerate during the middle overs. She also played a key role in India’s ICC Women’s ODI World Cup triumph in 2025.
India will begin its Group A campaign against Thailand on August 30 before facing Hong Kong on September 3 and arch-rivals Pakistan on September 5. All matches will be played at the Dubai International Stadium.
India are the most successful team in the history of the competition, having won four ODI titles and three T20I editions.
If Jemimah is unable to recover in time for the Asia Cup, wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia could be considered as her replacement in the Indian squad.
