Jammu and Kashmir Tourism has been honoured with the ‘Best Adventure Tourism Destination’ award at the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) in Ahmedabad, recognising the Union Territory’s growing appeal as a destination for adventure and experiential travel.
J&K Tourism concluded its three-day participation at the fair after showcasing the region’s diverse tourism offerings to travel trade representatives, industry stakeholders and visitors.
The presentation went beyond the traditional image of J&K as a land of snow-capped mountains, pristine lakes and scenic landscapes, highlighting its culture, traditions, cuisine, hospitality and local way of life.
The tourism delegation invited travellers from Gujarat and other parts of the country to explore J&K through immersive experiences, particularly those combining adventure with local culture.
The Union Territory offers a wide range of adventure activities, including trekking, rafting, skiing, mountaineering and paragliding. Its tourism portfolio also includes homestays, village tourism, heritage experiences and community-based cultural journeys.
The participation at TTF Ahmedabad also underlined the potential of homestays and community-based tourism to generate sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities while giving visitors an opportunity to experience the region’s culture and hospitality more closely.
The fair provided J&K Tourism with an opportunity to connect with the Gujarat travel market and strengthen relationships with tour operators, travel companies and other tourism stakeholders.
TTF Ahmedabad brought together tourism boards, hospitality brands, travel companies and other industry representatives from India and abroad, providing a platform for destination promotion and business networking.
The award comes as J&K seeks to further establish itself among India’s leading destinations for adventure, experiential and community-based tourism.
