Singer Sonu Nigam gave an impromptu performance from the operating theatre while undergoing surgery, sharing a video of himself singing through the pain for his doctor and medical team.
Nigam posted the video on Instagram, in which he can be seen singing Mohammed Rafi’s popular song “Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki, Na Jaane Tum Kab Aaoge” from the 1949 film Dulari.
“An impromptu performance for dear @drnileshsatbhai and his loving team during my surgery. Singing in the pain.. the Joy of Music!” he wrote in the caption.
The video drew reactions from fans and members of the entertainment industry, with many wishing the singer a speedy recovery.
Nigam has not disclosed the reason for his latest surgery. However, in June, he had spoken about suffering from a painful nerve-related condition and undergoing treatment.
At the time, he said he had undergone several MRI and CT scans and had been taking medication. In a video shared on social media, he said his nerves were “pinched” and that he had been undergoing scans for about a week.
The singer had also shown a patch near his neck and said the condition had left his throat feeling heavy. He described physiotherapy as a painful part of his treatment and said he had been taking painkillers during the recovery process.
Nigam’s earlier health update had prompted several members of the entertainment fraternity to express concern and wish him well. His latest video has once again drawn attention to his health, with fans hoping for his speedy recovery.
