Actor Abhishek Kumar has revealed that audiences have been showering love on his on-screen pairing with Jannat Zubair, with fans fondly referring to the duo as #Abhinat on social media.
During an appearance on Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming Indian Game Show, hosted by Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa, Abhishek spoke about the response to his chemistry with Jannat.
According to Abhishek, viewers have gone as far as comparing their pairing with the much-loved Bollywood duo of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
“Log pata hai kya bol rahe hain? Shah Rukh Khan aur Kajol ki jodi lag rahe hain. Aur mujhe lagta hain, Jannat aur mujhe na, Maldives jaana chahiye,” he said, joking that he and Jannat should travel to the Maldives.
His remark left those present amused, while Karan Kundrra playfully pulled his leg, telling him, “Yeh game show hain, prem show nahi hain,” reminding him that it was a game show and not a romantic one.
The Indian Game Show, hosted by Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa, is scheduled to premiere on August 24 at 8 p.m. on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
Abhishek and Jannat had earlier appeared together on the cooking reality show Laughter Chefs, where they shared an easy and friendly rapport.
Jannat also participated in the third season of Laughter Chefs alongside Aly Goni. The duo went on to win the season’s trophy.
Reflecting on the experience, Jannat said the show gave her a “best buddy”. Sharing photographs with Aly while holding the trophy, she wrote on social media that she could not have imagined completing the journey with anyone else and thanked viewers for their love and support.
