Veteran actor Raj Babbar recently returned to Kolkata, where he reconnected with old friends and familiar faces from the Bengali film industry while enjoying the city’s distinctive cultural charm.
Sharing glimpses of his visit on Instagram, Babbar described Kolkata as the “City of Joy” and said it would always hold a special place in his heart.
“Back in Kolkata..The City of Joy that will always hold a special place in my heart,” Babbar wrote, describing the city as having a unique warmth and timeless charm, along with a rich legacy of cinema, art and literature.
The Nikaah actor said reconnecting with friends from the Bengali film fraternity made his stay particularly memorable.
“My stay here is sure to be memorable as I reconnect with old friends and familiar faces from the Bengali film industry,” he wrote, adding that he was enjoying Kolkata’s distinctive energy and atmosphere.
In the video shared by the actor, Babbar could be seen travelling through the city in a car and enjoying glimpses of the rain before arriving at his hotel, where he received a warm welcome.
While Babbar is primarily known for his work in Hindi and Punjabi cinema, his association with Bengali films dates back several decades. He made his Bengali film debut with the 1992 family drama Anutap.
Over the years, the veteran actor has maintained close ties with the Bengali film fraternity and developed friendships with several prominent names from Tollywood. His associations include actors such as Debashree Roy, Mithun Chakraborty, Rituparna Sengupta and Prosenjit Chatterjee, as well as filmmaker Swapan Saha.
His latest visit to Kolkata reflected his enduring affection for the city and its vibrant artistic and cinematic culture.
