A book compiling RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s views on national issues, social harmony, nation-building and contemporary subjects was released in Bhopal on Friday on the occasion of his birthday, with All India Organisation of Imams Chief Imam Dr Umer Ahmed Ilyasi underlining the importance of dialogue in strengthening social harmony.
Titled Dr Mohan Bhagwat Sandesh, the book has been authored by senior journalist and writer Krishna Mohan Jha and was released at the Manasrovar Auditorium on the Madhya Pradesh Assembly premises.
Former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister and senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra and Arogya Bharati National Organisation Secretary Dr Ashok Kumar Varshney released the book in the presence of Mahamandaleshwar Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri and other public and social figures.
Addressing the gathering, Ilyasi said Bhagwat strongly believed in dialogue and described his personality as “towering”. He said stronger dialogue among communities would help build mutual trust and social harmony.
Ilyasi also highlighted India’s diversity and social fabric, saying dialogue was essential for understanding different traditions, communities and perspectives. He praised Jha’s effort to bring together Bhagwat’s views on various subjects in a single volume.
Varshney said the book was not merely a collection of Bhagwat’s statements but also included analysis of his views and conclusions drawn from them. He said Bhagwat’s views on contemporary issues could help young people understand their responsibilities towards society and the nation.
Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri said the book brought together Bhagwat’s thoughts on national issues, social harmony and nation-building while highlighting the broader cultural perspective of India.
Mishra praised Jha’s initiative, saying Bhagwat’s thoughts deserved to reach a wider readership.
Jha said the idea for the book emerged after he studied Bhagwat’s speeches and statements on different subjects and decided to present them together. The book covers national thought, social harmony, nation-building, youth, dignity of labour, organisation and society.
He also recalled his association with the Sangh and the Swadeshi movement during the 1990s, saying he had worked for the movement in 1994 under the guidance of senior Sangh functionaries.
The programme was attended by representatives of the RSS, social organisations and other sections of public life.
