NEET qualified candidates call out ‘politicisation’ of CJP-led protest

New Delhi, July 22, 2026
Several students who qualified the NEET-UG 2026 examination held on June 21, on Wednesday, said that the agitation led by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the exam paper leak is now being “politicised”, thereby shifting focus from the real issue of education.

Speaking to IANS, Akshay Anand, who qualified the NEET-UG with an All India Rank (AIR) of 4591, said: “The protest being in Delhi for students is justified because papers should not be leaked and education reforms are needed. But I do not support the politics surrounding it. I support the cause, not the politics.”

Another student, Anubhav Krishna, added: “The protest in Delhi now seems to be turning into a political issue. Leaders from different political parties are joining it and trying to gain political support. Earlier, it was entirely about education.”

“Sonam Wangchuk raised the issue…every year, paper leaks happen, and raising a voice against them was justified. But now, it is gradually becoming political, which is not right, and so I will not support this politicisation,” he said,

While condemning the NEET paper leak, Siddhi Ishwar Singh Thakur said the ongoing strike being held at Jantar Mantar “in the name of students” is very wrong.

“It (the protest) has turned into a political event which is completely wrong,” she stated.

While praising the government’s effort in conducting the NEET re-examination in a “record time”, Shivam Tripathi said: “It should be taken care of that such exam paper leaks are not repeated.”

Regarding the demands of Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, he said: “Resignation will not make much of a difference; what matters is to ensure that such instances are not repeated.”

Tripathi, who scored AIR 294 in the NEET exam, said that protestors marching towards the Parliament were wrong as it could have become a “national security issue”.

Meanwhile, the CJP-led protestors had faced alleged police brutality during a march to the Parliament on July 20, seeking the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan over the May 3 NEET paper leak.(Agency)
